Gift ideas for friends

Gifts based on what they really love

Giver is a free gift-finding app for iPhone and Android where friends share what they would love to get, and Giver suggests real gifts for each friend with a short reason why each one fits.

How it works

Three steps to a gift they’ll actually use

  1. 1

    Tell friends what you’d love

Fill in a short gift profile: your interests, the things you’ve been wanting, your sizes and anything you can’t have. Two questions to start, the rest whenever you like.

  2. 2

    Connect with your people

Add friends by username or with your invite link. Only friends you accept can see your profile, and your birthdays land in each other’s calendar.

  3. 3

    Get picks with a reason

Choose a friend, an occasion and a budget. Giver suggests five to eight real gifts and tells you why each one fits them.

Picks for each friend

Ideas based on their interests, not a bestseller list

Pick a friend and Giver ranks real products against what they told it: the hobbies they’re deep into, the things they’ve been wanting, their style, and anything they can’t have. Set a budget from under $25 to $200 and up, and an occasion like a birthday, an anniversary or Christmas.

  • Restrictions are hard rules: vegan, nut allergy, alcohol-free and more are filtered out before anything is suggested.
  • It knows how you know them, so a colleague gets something safe and a partner gets something personal.
  • Every idea is a real product with a real shop link. Nothing is made up.
Why it fits

Every pick tells you why it fits

Each gift comes with one or two sentences that tie it to something your friend shared, like “She bakes sourdough every weekend.” You see the lowest price across sellers, save ideas to a board for that friend, and buy from the shop you prefer.

Birthday calendar

Never miss a birthday again

When a friend request is accepted, both birthdays are added to each other’s calendar with a reminder two weeks ahead, enough time to order something good. Add anniversaries and other occasions, and choose reminders from a day to a month before.

Friends not on Giver yet

Shopping for someone who isn’t on Giver?

Describe them yourself, with their interests, a few things they’ve mentioned wanting and anything to avoid, and get ideas right away. Then send them an invite link. When they join, their own answers take over and every friend benefits.

Private by default

Your gift profile is visible only to you and the friends you accept. There are no public profiles, no ads and no advertising trackers, and we never sell personal data.

How Giver makes money

Giver is free. When you buy through a shop link, the shop may pay us a small commission, and your price stays the same. Picks are ranked by how well they fit your friend, never by how much a shop pays.

Questions

Good to know

What is Giver?

Giver is a free gift-finding app for iPhone and Android where friends share what they would love to get, and Giver suggests real gifts for each friend with a short reason why each one fits.

Is Giver free?

Yes. Giver has no subscription, no ads and no in-app purchases. When you buy something through a shop link in Giver, the shop may pay us a small commission. Your price stays the same.

How does Giver choose gift ideas?

Giver reads your friend’s gift profile (their interests, the things they want, their style and anything they can’t have), together with the occasion, your budget and how you know them. It matches those against a catalog of real products, then an AI model picks the best five to eight and writes one or two sentences on why each one fits. Every pick is a real product with a real shop link; Giver never makes products up.

Who can see my gift profile?

Only you and the friends whose request you accept. People who search for you see your username and photo, nothing else. Giver has no public profiles.

Do my friends need to use Giver too?

It works best when they do, because then the ideas come from what they said they’d love. If someone isn’t on Giver yet, you can describe them yourself, get ideas right away, and send them an invite link. When they join, their own answers take over.

Does Giver remind me about birthdays?

Yes. When a friend request is accepted, both birthdays are added to each other’s Giver calendar with a reminder two weeks before. You can add other occasions, such as anniversaries, and choose reminders from one day to one month ahead.
